International Tiger Day - also known as Global Tiger Day - is observed each year on 29 July to raise awareness about tigers - an endangered species. According to the United Nations, the global tiger population has declined by 95% over the past century, due to habitat loss and wildlife trafficking. Presidians celebrated International Tiger Day to raise awareness around the need for tiger conservation around the globe. Students learned about the impact of human activities like illegal poaching and wildlife trade, habitat loss, and human conflict.
