National Mathematics Day is celebrated every year on December 22 across the nation to recognize and celebrate the works of Srinivasa Ramanujan. Presidians celebrated National Mathematics Day by performing an activity on symmetry. They cut out different shapes and pinned them up on cardboard. By this activity, Presidians calculated the order of symmetry and angle of rotation of different shapes by rotating them. Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding. Presidians understand the order of symmetry by this activity and enjoyed it thoroughly.
