PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE WOMEN'S DAY WITH SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

A woman in any form should be celebrated and honored; be it as a mother, sister, daughter or wife. A woman is a symbol of love, God’s finest and beautiful creation.” With this thought Presidium, commenced the special assembly on International Women’s Day hosted by the students of grade -3. The Assembly began with a didactic prayer followed by some inspirational thoughts. Students also sang a beautiful poem to acknowledge all the women for making this world a better place to live in. The aim of the assembly was not only to entertain the students but also to depict the power of women. The students also showcased the power of women through role-play and made everyone realize the great power women have for the well being of the family and society.

Community Helpers are the people in professions that directly impact the lives of others. All of us need to know how Community Helpers work. To instill knowledge, and gratitude towards community helpers amongst the students of grade - nursery and prep, a reciprocal activity was taken up. The students were told about the significance of Community helpers and how our lives are inter- connected. The students were also briefed about many community helpers who are easily identified by their work attire or clothes and means of transport. The students of grade prep also came dressed up as their favorite community helper and spoke in appreciation about the good things they do to make a difference in our lives. This activity also helps to instill in them respect for all professions and learn to value them better.

PRESIDIANS ORGANIZE ENGAGING ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE SOCIAL JUSTICE

Social justice is a concept of fair and just relations between the individual and society. Social justice assigns rights and duties in the institutions of society, which enables people to receive the basic benefits and burdens of cooperation. Such awareness was created among Presidians through various activities like Nukkad Natak, poem, speech and rally by grade 3 students. They learned how each one of us can bring change in society as together we form a community. They learned how their contribution to the community will be helpful in poverty eradication, promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity and justice for all as they will be the entrepreneurs of the future who will create job opportunities for others.

Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind and fills your life with stories to tell. Students of Presidium, under the theme 'Travel', shared their stories of nearby and far away places. They got an understanding of the kind of planning required for traveling, exploring all important information given on a ticket. Children learned about different modes and classification of transport in terms of land, water, air transport. Through this theme, they got to know about the transformation in transport from ancient times to the present time. They shared their personal experience of traveling in the metro and designed a photo album using their real-life experience of traveling.

PRESIDIANS ENHANCE THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SOLAR SYSTEM

Children have always been fascinated and mesmerized by the Solar System. To recapitulate and to equip them with better understanding an activity to share about the solar system was organised under the theme - Solar System. The students shared about the shape of the Earth, difference between Earth and Globe, understanding about Rotation and Revolution which causes day and night. They were also told facts about Earth's axis and orbit. It was an enthralling experience to see students talk about the solar system and its planets. Some of the students shared about the Space Explorers, Space Station and also different space agencies. They stood tall and proudly shared their understanding and findings.

AN INFORMATIVE ROAD SAFETY WORKSHOP AT PRESIDIUM

Presidium in collaboration with the Indian Road Safety Campaign and Hindustan Times conducted a workshop on ROAD SAFETY to instill road sense among students. The Workshop highlighted and emphasized the need for following Rules and to have safer roads. The significance of road signs was discussed at length by showing a PowerPoint Presentation wherein the students were briefed upon the classifications of the traffic signs like Mandatory Road Signs, Cautionary Road Signs and Informatory Road Signs. They were also advised to always wear helmets with perfect fit and to wear seat belts while driving. Students were also informed about the Good Samaritan Law and how important it is to save others lives.
They also promised to share their knowledge with parents and relatives to stay safe.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT AIR WITH THE AID OF ENGAGING ACTIVITIES

Air can be difficult to teach about because one can’t always see it, smell it, hear it, or taste it. But we cannot live without it, so learning about air, and its properties is quite significant. Students of Presidium learned about the properties and characteristics of Air, through first-hand experience of various experiments and observations in which they made parachutes and windmills. They also learned that air has the ability to move things, rise up when heated and settles down upon cooling. Students thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience.

To identify Indian currency notes and coins and their denominations our young Presidians highlighted the importance of Money by various fun-filled activities and by exchanging it for goods. Some slogans on banners and placards were used to recapitulate 'The value of earning and saving money.'

Republic day is celebrated on 26th January all over India to honor the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect. This day reminds us of elevated values enshrined in our constitution, as we claim our fundamental rights and perform the fundamental duties that our constitution prescribes. Each year, we celebrate this day with great excitement and enthusiasm. Presidians reflect on the deeper significance of the day by unfurling the flag, confidently exhibiting talents through the showcase of the parade and dance performances.
We celebrated the day with festivities, patriotic fervor and marked the Republic day with respect.

STUDENTS ENHANCE THEIR SKILLS WITH ROBOTICS CLASS

Robotics is a branch of technology that deals with the making, programming and designing of robots. Robotics for kids is a hands-on and fun way to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical) concepts by letting them make their robots. Children thoroughly enjoyed assembling the kits to make their very own functional robots that could follow their instructions. At the end of the workshop, students showcased their functional robots with immense pride and sense of achievement.
